Nutritional composition of some indigenous fruits in the drylands.

The edible portions of pulp and in a few case seeds of fruits from ten indigenous fruit tree species that grow in the drylands have been analyzed for their nutritional composition. The analysis carried out included moisture, ash, protein, fat, crude fibre and minerals (CA, MG, K, Cu, Fe, Zn, Mn). The energy content was determined and total carbohydrate value was calculated.
