Ahenda, Joseph Olo | GTZ Technical Cooperation Federal Republic of Germany (Project )
This paper shows how the seed with pulp require proper processing for better and faster germination. The seed should be depulped as faster as possible cleansed and dried to a moisture content level suitable for storage. The type of seed would determine the extent and the speed of drying. The seed with pulp are mostly extracted by depulping which involves soaking the fruit in water and application of pressure on the pulp or drying of the fruits and subjecting them to abrasion. The main cleaning methods for these seeds include differential floatation, winnowing, blowing and hand sorting.
