176 E. coli isolates were obtained (15%) from 1150 tested pigs and 156 strains of isolated E. coli were serotyped. The most widespread serotypes of E. coli were0141:K85, 08:K87 and 0149:K91. Most of ETEC (enterotoxigenic) E. coli contained fimbrial antigens F4, F5 or F6. Biochemical characteristics of isolated E. coli were determined. Most of them were typical to E. coli, however some characteristics were specific. These data may be useful in routine methods of E. coli identification from pigs origin.
