The dynamics of flavonoid and polyphenol content in ontogenesis in Calendula officinalis L.
2004
Branzila, I.
The dynamics of the accumulation of flavonoids and polyphenols in Calendula officinalis L. have been studied in relation to different flowering periods, in order to established the optimal harvesting date. It was found that flavonoid and polyphenol content in dry inflorescences of Calendula officinalis cultivated in the Republic of Moldova is high and constitutes 0,872-1,062% at the begining of flowering season and 0,636-0,832% at the end of vegetative period. This content correlates with the share of ligulate flowers in inflorescences.
