The assessment of biological properties of the investigated chemicals is based on direct and indirect observations of the behaviour of peach-potato aphid, Myzus persicae, on chinese cabbage plants. Active terpenoid lactones were always recognized by aphids in sieve elements, therefore it is concluded, that they were transported to sieve elements in plants. On the contrary, the deterrent effect of some of the 2,2-dimethylchromene derivatives was only demonstrated within others tissues, but not within vascular bundles
