In 1996-98 laboratory there were carried out studies on the effects of harvest and threshing (one stage harvest A - plants were threshed immediately after harvest, two-stage harvest B - after drying of whole plants and two-stage C - seeds were drying exclusively in pods) on the weight of 1000 seeds, germination capacity and vigour of 3 cultivars (Mela, Slowianka, Jubilatka) of field bean seeds. The weight of 1000 seeds, germination energy and capacity, as well as vigour of seeds were increasing with advanced ripeness. Seeds of B trash showed the highest of 1000 seeds, energy and germination ability. Those of C trash had the highest vigour
