In the research, the effect of increasing mineral fertilization rates and forecrop in the form of winter catch crop on the starch, dry matter and vitamin C content in the tubers of three potato varieties was determined in the years 1999-01. The starch content in potato tubers was determined by the experimental years, variety and mineral fertilization levels, whose effect varied depending on the weather conditions. Among the varieties the lowest starch content was characteristic of the Aster variety, larger amount was found in the Muza and Ania varieties
