Seed sculpture of Polish species of the genus Plantago L.

The aim of this study was to make detailed observations of seed sculpture under a light microscope and a scanning electron microscope, and to clarify the relations between the Polish taxa of the genus Plantago, including 5 common and 3 endangered species. Special attention was paid to the sculpture of the external layer of the testa. Observations were made under scanning electron microscope. The results indicate that seed sculpture is a very good interspecific identification feature
