Soil texture of different Polish soils according to the classification systems of PTG, PN-R-04033 and USDA

At present exists in Poland two different soil classification systems: according to Polish Soil Science Society (PTG) which lasts more than fifty years and new Polish Standard PN-R-04033 estabilished in 1998. Comparison of soil texture of 260 samples taken from different Polish soil groups, developed on different parent materials showed that classification acc. to Polish PN-R-04033 is "highly compatible" with USDA. But the classification acc. to PTG is not compatible and not truly reflecting the character of soil particle size distribution in soils
