The purpose of the experiment carried out in 2000 and 2001 was to establish the effect of transplant age and time of planting on the yield and quality of broccoli Lord F1, cultivated for autumn crop. Regarding the yield obtained, the first half of July turned out to be more favourable time for transplant planting. In the two experimental years, the average yield from both planting times was higher for 8-week transplants than 4- and 6-week ones. In both years, the highest marketable yield from the second planting time (August) was obtained from 8- and 10-week transplants. The studied factors had a significant effect upon the dry matter content of the broccoli heads
