Research on the use of neem extracts from KU-pilot plant in the control of insect pests of crucifera and citrus

Efficacy test of neem extracts on diamondback moth (Plutella xylostella) in Chinese kale field showed no statistical different from untreated control neem extracts and abamectin could not control P. xylostella larvae in low level resulted in high damage to Chinese kale. The efficacy test of neem seed extracts on citrus leaf miner in pomelo plantation was conducted. From randomly counting of damage index on young leaves of 10 shoots per tree, it indicated that all treatments, except untreated control, showed slightly damage from citrus leaf miner. Methanolic extracts of Thai neem seed from the extractor with heat as WSE (warm seed extracts) and without heater as CSE. At the concentration of 50 ml, 50 ml + sticker and 10 ml/20 l compared with commercial neem insecticide from USA, Fortune at 10 ml/20 l of water against cotton aphid of chilli. The result revealed that all treatments except untreated control gave good control of aphid.
