Relationship between the growth stages of soybean and their susceptibilities to Sclerotinia sclerotiorum

In order to evaluate the differences of susceptibilities of the hosts at different growth phases to the leaf and stem infection by the mycelium of Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, two cultivars of soybean (Glycine max) were compared as seedlings, in late vegetative growth, at flowering and podding as well. The susceptibilities of the soybean decreased from the seedling growth phase to the podding phase. Fiskeby 5 seemed to show a lower susceptibility to S. sclerotiorum at all growth phases than Amsoy 85105.
