Application of geographic information system for shrimp farm and mangrove forest in Trat province

Trat Province is the east coast province of Thailand which has been rapidly developed to several human activities without planing and improperly coastal resources management. Especially, mangrove forest in Trat Province has been converted to intensive shrimp culture. Since 1996, the total intensive shrimp farm and mangrove forest have been 45,051.50 and 62,133.25 rai, respectively. The 19,135.50 rai of intensive shrimp farms were developed in mangrove forest area and 25,916.00 rai outside.
