Relation between BGYF count and aflatoxin B1 content in maize samples stored at various moisture content was determined. Samples ground with 2mm sieve could be easily observed BGYF count. BGYF method would be useful for screening of maize samples prior to be sent to aflatoxin analysis. BGYF count in maize below 5 has safe level of aflatoxin content, within 20 ppb of FAO and WHO guide line. While in the BGYF count more than 5, there was no clear relation between BGYF count and aflatoxin B1 content.
