Researches on the genetype - environment interaction in some salt-tolerant, high yield rice varieties

Eighteen improved cultivars were screening at seedling stage in culture solution with EC= 8, 12 dS/m, 4 cultivars are evaluated to be good with survival time is from 27 to 30 days. OM 2395-165 is the most expectative saline torlerant variety in 18 varietes sreening. Yield trials were evaluated for 2 crop at 8 sites in Kien Giang and Tien Giang province in randomize complete block design with 3 replications. Additive main effects, multiplication interaction model, pattern analysis and Eberhart and Russel model were used to analyze yield data from 8 varieties. There are 3 expectative high yield varieties in saline areas: OM 2395-165, AS 996, CM 42-94. OM 3536 and IR 64 are obtained to be medium yield in wet season but high in dry season. Especially, OM 2395-165 has high yield for both crops. AS 996 (IR 64 x O.rufipogon) is variety that adapt many sites; For inconvenient areas, OM 3536 is the best varieity to produce in saline areas.
