Classification and characteristics on soil type of Coastal sandy area in Thuathienhue

The coastal sandy area in Thuathienhue province can be classified into three soil types and six subsoil types such as: 1) Sandy dune soil (coastal sandy dune subsoil and sandy dune subsoil); 2) flat sandy soil (dry sandy subsoil and wet sandy subsoil); and 3) Wet land (frest subsoil and salt subsoil). Characteristics of coastal sandy soil are poor in Humic, NPK and short of water in dry season, so selection of fertilizer kind and type and identification of crop and tree pattern is necsesary in this area. Land use or land management is different in each agro- ecologycal area and cropping system is agroforestry system are also different in each soil type of three agro-ecologycal areas such as indegenous trees and high growth trees with mix planted on forestry area; food crops, fruit trees and cash crops planted on different soil type of agricultural area; and many aquacultural partterns in wetland area such as fish, shirmp and crab with high income for households.
