Clone KS4 was initially selected in 1994 from the Northern local taro collection with short growth duration. KS4 is very short growth duration variety. This is a very valuable character to present taro production in Red River Delta conditions it can be grown in three seasons in Red River Delta condition: Spring, Summer or Winter-Autumn. The productivities were from 7.5 tons/ha to 24.5 ton/ha depending on location, season and density of planting. In reality, KS4 has been accepted by farmers as a new taro variety in Vietnam.
