OM 3536 has been developed from the cross of TD8/ OM 1738. TD 8 considered as a good combiner on grain weight, grain yield and good grain quality. Selected to adap to the breeding objectives on grain quality improvement in Mekong Delta. Fixed lines were tested in various site. Genotype x Environment interaction was analyzed due to Eberhart Russel model, and modified by AMMI (IRRISTAT) for grain yield and grain quality properties such as amylose, chalkiness, head rice percentage, and gel consistency. Early duration variety OM 3536(100 days) obtained stable and high yield among yield trail network for recent years. It is moderately resistant to brown plant hooper and blast. Due to its good grain quality, farmers in the delta have developed OM 3536 in large scale areas. Then it will be proposed to become nationally released variety at the moment.
