Influence of fertilizer use efficiency on the uptake of magnesium during maize plant development grown on chromic luvisols

A long-term field experiment under irrigation with two maize hybrids (400 and 700 FAO) was conducted on chromic luvisol. Five levels of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilization were observed. The uptake of Mg was determined on the source of the formed dry biomass and the content of Mg (%) in the plant samples (stems, leaves, cobs) during plant development. Regression equations describing the Mg uptake during plant development were drowning up. A parallel between requirements of the two hybrids was done.
