Seasonal and spatial distributions of bacteria inhabited soil profile of high mountain grass ecosystem

Temperature and moisture were the two parameters, which values determined in general the fluctuations of environmental conditions. The distribution of bacteria in litter and soil in depth depended of the values of environmental factors and correlated with month of sampling. The heterotrophic bacterial population was concentrated in the litter and it did not change even in the months of unfavourable conditions according mainly to the temperature and moisture. Seasonal and spatial fluctuations in total bacterial abundance were statistically significant in contrast to the heterotrophic bacteria whose number was determined only by the substratum. The succession of microbial communities was in different stages of progress and it was tightly connected with their location in the depth of soil profile. The most frequently interrupted succession was that of litter, the most straightforward in its progress was that of the 4th soil layer.
