[Role of protective chemical compounds of the host-plants in the production of allomones by leaf-eating insects]

Insects-phytophaga and leaf-eating insects, in particular, are optimum adapted for a feed by corresponding fodder plants. Physiological features of leaves (rigidity, thickness) play the subordinated role at definition of a fodder plant. The basic value belongs to chemical stimulus which for individuals from populations differing a feed by various kinds of plants can lead to different behavioural reactions. Chemical stimulus including protective chemical compounds of the host-plant play a primary part in insect-phytophage diet. In the process of evolution the leaf-eating insects adapted to the use of these substances and their derivatives for their own protection against predators. It is specific for many species of Chrysomelidae family to have protectors at all stages of development. Furthermore the composition of protective glands secretion is determined by a host-plant species
