Biology of European catfish (Silurus glanis L.) larvae, piscicultural and biological features of young of the current year cultivation in the pond fish farms of the Republic of Belarus are analyzed, methods of increasing of whitebaits viability are presented. Catfish embryo transform to the larvae stage takes place at 4-5 days age. It is necessary to grow them till the switch to the external feeding in the conditions of hatcher in stocking density of 50-100 thousand larvae/m3. Larvae probability of survival is 60-70% and average mass – 22-27 mg. In order to increase the efficiency of young of the current year catfish growing it is necessary to seed ponds by 30-days whitebaits. Growing of catfish larvae till 30-days age can be realized in small ponds in stocking density of 10-30 thousand larvae/ga. Larvae probability of survival is 40-70% and average mass – 1,4-1,5 mg. For the provision of catfish whitebaits adequate ration in the conditions of pond growing it is necessary to form the zooplanktonic association by means of stimulation of indigenous species by known means of introduction by highly productive representatives, for example, Moinarectirostris and Daphnia magna. It is recommended to add half-dried grass or splay water aquatic vegetation into ponds. In order to provide the appropriate fish rations in the process of growing of larvae and young of the current year catfish it is possible to add 3-day larvae into ponds
