[Yield and quality of potato tubers as effected by different types of nitrogen fertilizers]

The results of four year experiment explaining the effect of dofferent types of nitric fertilizers (ammonium nitrate, ammonium sulfate, urea, and double superphosphate) on potato yield, yield structure, and characteristics of tubers including starch content and scab development on tubers are shown. The cultivars Arkhideya and Skarb were used in this experiment. Analysis of the results indicated that these cultivars had similar yield, and provided the same response on different types of nitric fertilizers. Application of ammonium sulfate resulted in the increase of the number of tubers per plant. No significant effect of these fertilizers was observed for the starch content. All these types of fertilizers, except urea, considerably decreased the affection tubers by common scab. The effect of ammonium sulfate was the most evident
