Innovation in the soybean assortment

In 2004, a large number of new soybean varieties and prospective lines were tested in a network of large-plot trials. Their agronomic characters were compared against standard varieties from corresponding maturity groups. Of 20 trials performed, 17 were located in the Vojvodina Province (Serbia and Montenegro), two in central Serbia (Serbia and Montenegro) and one in the region of Semberija (Bosnia and Herzegovina). Thanks to favouraboe weather conditions, especially abundant rainfall, yields in the trials were high. Record yield were achieved in several locations. Differences were registered in yield performance among the varieties and lines.
