Grain sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) is one of the world major crops and its importance is increasing in Serbia agriculture as well. By introduction of high yielding F1 hybrids with high quality grain i.e. Alba F1 and Gold F1 a solution has been given for cultivar selection. The specific morphology of root, stem, leaf, panicle and grain combined with the tolerance to drought and soil type enable a successful grain sorghum growing even where corn production is not economical. The diverse ways of utilization of grain, green mass or the two combined as human food and cattle feed, raw material for industry and specific uses suggest that grain sorghum has a high perspective under Serbian condition.
