Bacterial diseases of alfalfa and clover

Alfalfa and clover are hosts of numerous pathogens. The most important are mycoses, but some significant phytopathogenic bacteria, also cause significant economical damages. Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. insidiosus belong to most harmful parasite of alfalfa. This pathogen cause dwarfing and plant diening. Alfalfa and clover are also hosts of some bacteria from genus Pseudomonas and Xanthomonas which cause wilting or spotting. Control of these phytopathogenic bacteria is possible by preventive measures of protection. Among them the most important are good agrotechnical measures and more resistant varieties.
