Technical systems and equipment are all around us and are in constant expansion. During their life cycle permanent maintenance is requested in order to sustain their working performances. Maintenance process, as one of the processes of the future, through its action can have major influence on the environment. That is why we in this paper have the intention of drawing the attention so that maintenance process and its activities would be an active component of managing the environmental protection. Due to the evident complementarities of one segment of management in organizations - management of quality system, managing environmental protection and managing safety and health protection, requests the maintenance process to be treated within the whole management process, which is highlighted in the paper.
