Control strategies of tortricids in apple orchards an attempt towards sustainable agriculture system in Vojvodina [Serbia (Sebria and Montenegro)]
2005
Thalji, R.(Faculty of Agriculture, Novi Sad (Serbia and Montenegro))
In 2003 and 2004 a study was conducted in two apple orchards sprayed by conventional insecticides with a different number of treatments. The aim of the study was to determine the appearance of tortricids, their damages to the fruit and level of parasitism under these circumstances. The obtained results showed that a parasitism level of 16.25% and 23.8% of the overwintered generation of leaf roller in 2003 and 2004 respectively was sufficient to make chemical control in early spring unnecessary. In 2003 and 2004 nine parasitoids species belonging to the families Braconidae, Chalcidoidae, Ichneumonidae and Tachinidae were reared from the larvae and pupae of the overwintered generation. The chalcidoid Brachymeria regulusa and yet undetermined species of tachinid were reared from the pupae.
