The objective of the study was to determine the optimum N-fertilizer rate needed to obtain the best yield and protein content and quality in the durum wheat cultivar Durumko used for quality pasta production. The study of the said cultivar was carried out as part of a long-term trial with 20 mineral nutrition treatments established at Rimski Sancevi (Serbia, Serbia and Montenegro) on a chernozem soil. The results of the two-year study showed no significant differences in grain yield and protein content and quality between treatments with 100 and 150 kg of N/ha (11 and 17), so we can recommend that the fertilizer rate applied in Treatment 11 (N100 P50 K50 kg/ha) be used for durum wheat N-fertilization in soli and climatic conditions similar to those from this study.
