Intensive agriculture production is follow by soil compaction. The objective of this study was to investigate influence of different cropping systems on soil compaction at long term experimental station Plodoredi, Rimski Sancevi near Novi sad (Serbia). The study treatments were as follows: fertilized three-field crop rotation (maize-soybean-wheat); fertilized two-field crop rotation (maize-wheat), fertilized monoculture of wheat; fertilized monoculture of maize; unfertilized three field crop rotation (maize-soybean-wheat); and unfertilized two-field crop rotation (maize-wheat). The highest compaction after wheat were found at two-field and tree-field fertilized rotation and topsoil after wheat monoculture had lowest compaction. On maize rotations the lowest compaction were found on tree-field rotation, while the highest compaction had maize monoculture. Soil on fertilized tree-field rotation after soybean had highest compaction in comparison with unfertilized tree-field rotation.
