Plant diseases have caused severe losses to humans. That is why there are many methods, measures, strategies and tactics used in the control or management of plant diseases. The most recent approach to plant disease control is the Integrated Disease Management. It is sustainable way to managing diseases by combining biological, cultural, physical and chemical tools in a manner that minimises economic, health and environmental risks. The basic principles of plant disease control are: exclusion (prevent introduction of inoculum), eradication (eliminate, destroy or inactivate inoculum), protection (prevent infection by means of a barrier to infection) and resistance (utilize cultivars resistant or tolerant to infection). A combination of these measures will control most plant diseases.
