The economic effects of farm pig production for providing raw material for dry ham production were analyzed using appropriate calculation methods. Fattening of pigs up to 150 kg liveweight was not competitive with regard to the fatting of standard 100 kg pigs under current technological and economic conditions, and is not acceptable for producers. The parameters contributing to the economic equilibrium of both fattening types were determined based on the balance between the cost price and sale price.
