Effects of row spacing and different maturity groups on yield and quality of soybean by irrigation. [Master thesis]
2006
Dozet, G.
A 2-year study was conducted in an experiment with three row spacing (25, 50 and 70 cm) and three cultivars, Proteinka, Novosadjanka and Vojvodjanka (0, the 1st and the 2nd maturity group) by irrigation. The yield, components of yield (the number of pods and seeds per plant, seed weight per 1000 seeds, absolutely dry seed weight per plant), morphological characteristics (the number of branches per plant, height per plant, height of the 1st pod, the number of nodes per stem, obesity of stem) and quality were studied. The seed yield per hectare increased as the spacing among rows decreased. The determined differences in the seed yield per hectare among the three cultivars were insignificant. The yield components studied tended to be higher as the rows spacing widened. Row spacing influenced certain morphological characteristics except the total number of nodes. The quality of seed was different among cultivars.
