The specialized plantations for woody biomass production can be defined short rotation forestry when they are with high density (8,000-15,000 plants/ha) and short turn (2-3 years), medium rotation forestry when the density is lower (1,400-1,500 plants/ha) and the turn is 5-6 years long and long rotation forestry when the density is low and the turn is more than 8-10 years long. At the Experimental Farm Po di Tramontana of Veneto Agricoltura there are 2 examples of plantations: a medium rotation forestry with plane tree, ash and elm tree and a short rotation forestry with black locust

Presso l´Azienda Sperimentale Po di Tramontana di Veneto Agricoltura sono presenti due esempi di piantagioni: selvicoltura a rotazione media con platano, acero e olmo e selvicoltura a rotazione breve con robinia.]
