On the presence of endoparasities in beef calves imported from France

English. This paper reports a study conducted on imported cattle raised in the Charolais zone of France with the aim of evaluating their parasitological sanitary status. A group of 345 animals was examined. The average specimen was twelve months old and weighed 350 kg. The serological and faecal samples of each cattle arrival in an Italian farm were examined in search of qualitative-quantitative measure of eggs, larvae and oocysts of Protozoans, Cestoda, Nematoda as well as to determine the presence of antibodies against Toxoplasma gondii, Neospora caninum, Hypoderma bovis, Cisticercus bovis. The 30.7 % of the coprological samples was positive for Fasciola hepatica, whereas 50.4% resulted positive for gastrointestinal strongylosis; 18.5% of the animals showed the occurrence of both the above mentioned parasites. The serological samples revealed anti-Hypoderma bovis antibodies in 26% of the animals, while the parasite T. gondii was found only in 8 subjects (however, there was no cystic presence in meat). [Questo contributo riporta uno studio effettuato su bovini da carne allevati nella zona del Charolais (Francia) e importato, allo scopo di valutarne lo stato sanitario dal punto di vista parassitologico. E´ stato esaminato un gruppo di 345 animali. L´età media del campione era di 12 mesi e il peso pari a 350 kg. A ogni arrivo in un´azienda italiana, i campioni sierologici e fecali di ogni animale sono stati esaminati dal punto di vista qualitativo e quantitativo relativamente a uova, larve e oocisti di protozoi, cestodi e nematodi, così pure per determinare la presenza di anticorpi nei confronti di Toxoplasma gondii, Neospora caninum, Hypoderma bovis, Cisticercus bovis. Il 30,7% dei campioni coprologici è risultato positivo per Fasciola hepatica, mentre il 50,4% è risultato positivo per la strongilosi intestinale; il 18,5% degli animali ha evidenziato la presenza di ambedue i parassiti citati. I campioni sierologici hanno mostrato anticorpi per Hypodema bovis nel 26% degli animali, mentre T. gondii è stato ritrovato solo in 8 soggetti (tuttavia, non risultava presenza di cisti nella carne).
