Oxygen-ozone treatment in bovine metritis: field experiences

English. 200 cases of bovine metritis with different aetiology were treated with intrauterine infusion of ozonized bi-distilled water. The AA treated cows affected by catarrhal or purulent metritis. Bacteriological examination of cervical swabs showed that most of these cases were caused by ubiquitous aspecific bacteria like Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp. and A. pyogenes. The results of treatments were good. In case of catarrhal metritis, while 20% of purulent metritis cases proved to be resistant to the treatment, the remaining 80% of cases recovered well

Gli AA hanno sottoposto al trattamento bovine affette da metriti catarrali e purulente, che, per mezzo di analisi dei tamponi cervicali, sono state identificate come provocate da comuni batteri aspecifici quali streptococchi, stafilococchi e A. pyogenes. Tutte le bovine trattate presentavano buone condizioni generali. Gli AA hanno osservato buoni risultati nel trattamento delle forme catarrali, il 20% dei casi di metrite purulenta è risultato refrattario al trattamento.
