English. [The effect of feeding levels on blood level of some plasma metabolites was studied in fattening double muscled Piemontese bulls. The animals, between 6 and 16 months of age, divided in 2 groups, were fed to meet growth requirements for a daily weight gain of 1 and 1.2 kg respectively. The results suggest that nutrient availability for a daily weight gain of 1 kg is insufficient for hypertrophied Piemontese bulls, leading to a metabolization of a share of protein to meet their energy requirements.]
Show more [+] Less [-]Italian. E´ stato studiato l´effetto del livello nutritivo sulla concentrazione ematica di alcuni metaboliti plasmatici di vitelloni Piemontesi all´ingrasso. Gli animali, di età compresa tra i 6 e i 16 mesi, suddivisi in 2 gruppi, sono stati alimentati per soddisfare i fabbisogni di accrescimento rispettivamente di 1 kg/d e di 1,2 kg/d. I risultati ottenuti indicano come il razionamento per l´accrescimento giornaliero di 1 kg non sia adeguato per i vitelloni Piemontesi con ipertrofia, portandoli a metabolizzare parte della proteina per soddisfare i propri fabbisogni energetici
