English. In order to improve the quality of life of a population resident in the area, public administrations have to promote and launch responsible initiatives oriented to achieve this objective. Among them, the certification of environmental management systems and the Emas registration, which is presented more in detail in this paper. The organisations are able to improve their environmental performances by applying this kind of instruments. Furthermore, Emas provides an additional advantage: it is an useful instrument for informing stakeholders. In the perspective of local public administrations and parks authorities, stakeholders are local people, living in the area or using the local services provided by the public authorities which have the responsibility for governing the region

[Per migliorare la qualità della vita di una popolazione residente in una data area, le amministrazioni pubbliche devono promuovere e lanciare iniziative adatte, orientate al raggiungimento di questo obiettivo. Fra queste, la certificazione dei sistemi di gestione ambientale e la registrazione Emas, che viene presentata in dettaglio in questo articolo. Le diverse organizzazioni sono il grado di migliorare le proprie condizioni ambientali applicando questo tipo di strumenti. Inoltre, l´Emas ha un vantaggio aggiuntivo: è un utile strumento di informazione per tutti gli interlocutori interessati.
