New green tea cultivar 'Sainomidori' has been bred. The plucking times of the first crop of this cultivar are 2 days earlier than those of 'Yabukita' . 'Sainomidori' is resistant to cold drought and bark split frost injury. The level of resistance to freezing injury is almost the same as 'Yabukita' . The damage to Anthracnose is less than that of 'Sayamakaori' . The damage caused by mulberry scale is less than 'Yabukita'
