Rapid analysis for fat in garbage compost and study on the possibility of judging the maturity of garbage compost by using fat

1. Fat content of garbage compost can be easily measured using a simple soil hydrocarbon measurement device and a shaker and shaking for 5 minutes. The measurable range was 0.2-1% (Fig. 8) . 2. Fat undergoes decomposition slowly among readily degradable organic materials and fat content is observed to be correlated with the root length of Brassica chinensis var. komatsuna, which is an indicator of compost maturity. It suggested that fat content could be an indicator for judging ripeness in composting primary-treated garbage.
