The field experiment and the seedling test were examined for corn (Zea mays L.) 12 cultivars (relative maturity 108-126) to check the relationship between these tests about nitrate-nitrogen (NO3-N) and potassium (K) content (per dry matter, respectively). In field experiment, there was big variety difference in NO3-N content. Most NO3-N was contained in stem, but K was contained also in leaf and ear. However correlation between NO3-N content at field experiment and those of seedling test was low, highly positive correlation between Harada et al's NO3-N content (Grassland science 44 286-291) and seedling test's one in "DK789", "NS540A", "NS80A", and "Sesiria" (r=0.816, not significant) was observed. It was concluded that these result might be able to evaluate the variety difference of the NO3-N content in the corn by measuring those of seedling. On the other hand, it was considered that there were little necessity of developing the simple estimation method of K content in the corn because of its low coefficient of variation.
