Hybridization of LM(Living Modified) Rice with Weedy Rices

Weedy rice collected from Milyang city in 2001 was very susceptible to glufosinate herbicide. Artificial crossing was made between Milyang weedy rice (a pollen receptor rice) and LM(Living Modified) rice (transformed with bar gene in Dongjinbyeo : glufosinate resistant rice) as a pollen donor rice. Eighteen different biological characters were determined in both parent and F₁ plants. Among them, some morph-ecological characteristics in weedy rice, LM rice and their F₁ plants such as leaf color, heading time, leaf shape, culm and panicle length etc. were belonging to the same category.
