Evaluating residents' attitudes for garbage typing: A case of Motegi, Tochigi prefecture [Japan]

The purpose of this paper is to examine what factors have working for residents' attitudes for Typing Garbage. The study area is Motegi, Tochigi Prefecture. We approached this purpose by using 10gistic regression Models and POSA (Partial Order Scalogram Analysis). The findings were follows. (1) Resident's cooperative attitude were positively correlated with recognition that other people are cooperative for the policy of Typing Garbage, and the knowledge level of recycling society. (2) Residents who are business parson or small family size or large family size had low cooperative attitude. (3) The process for increasing participation rates of residents in the policy of Typing Garbage clarified by POSA. The first step starting this process is that residents have to know what the recycling society is. The second step is to solve the problems such as complicated have to procedures for Typing Garbage for residents are going to do it the last third step is that residents recognize that other people are going to cooperate in the policy of Typing Garbage.
