The varietals resistance factor combined with integration of chemical andbiological control measures was studied on six maize varieties viz. Agaiti-85, Akbar,Golden, EV-1098, Pak-afgoyee, EV-5089. The results obtained on the basis of percent maize borer infestation revealed that there was no significant difference amongthe varieties at different weeks after sowing. In plots with and withoutTrichogramma, an egg parasitoid, impregnated cards, borer infestation was differentamong the varieties at 7th and 8th week after sowing. At post-treatment (Carbofuran3G) intervals in plots with Trichogramma impregnated cards no significant differenceafter 68 hours and one week while significant difference between Pak-afgoyee andAgaiti-85 after 48 and 96 hours was observed. In plots without Trichogrammaimpregnated cards, no significant difference after 48, 96 hours and one week whilesignificant difference after 168 hours between Pak-afgoyee and Agaiti-85 wasobserved. It was concluded from the present study that Trichogramma was not aneffective egg parasitoid to suppress the maize infestation by Chilo partellus.
