Chemical control of wilt in shisham (Dalbergia sissoo Roxb.)

Fusarium solani (Mart.) Appel and Wr. was isolated from the roots of shisham(Dalbergia sissoo Roxb.) plants of 6-30 years age, showing symptoms of wilt diseaseat different stages. In vitro toxicity assays with three fungicides revealed thatBenomyl is the most effective in controlling mycelial growth of F. solani followed byRidomil Gold while Aliette had insignificant effect. Field study showed thatapplication of 50 litres of 200 ppm Benomyl can effectively recover 6-8 years oldwilting shisham plants.
