Impact of income generating activities of livestock management on socio-economic conditions of rural women in district Faisalabad [Pakistan]

Women play a vital role in nation building and economical uplift, as theirpopulation in Pakistan is 49.6%. They are working shoulder to shoulder with menin every walk of life. Their participation in agriculture is 75% but as comparedcrop sector women participation in livestock is more visible. The sale of livestockproducts is a major source of earnings for rural women. So the present study wasplanned to assess the impact of income generating activities of livestockmanagement on socioeconomic condition of rural women. A sample of 120respondents was selected from the two randomly selected villages of districtFaisalabad. It was found that women were practically involved in incomegeneration activities through livestock production and uplifting their socio-economic conditions in society, which should be strengthened by providing themcredit facilities to empower them.
