Presented work was based on results of a field experiment, where soil samples were taken according to fertilization scheme. The aim of this study was estimation of chosen properties of the light and heavy soils under influence of fertilization applicated in field experiment with table potato cultivation. The experimental fertilizer variants did not affect significantly nitrogen concentrations in the light soil arable layer. In studies conducted on the heavy soil the lowest total nitrogen value was registered in the control and the highest on mineral treatment
