Yielding of pure and mixed sowing of spring barley varieties cultivated in crop rotation and monoculture

The study was aimed at estimation of yields hight and structure of pure and mixed sowing of three varieties spring barley cultivated in crop rotation and in monoculture on the loess soil of the middle Lublin province (Poland). The following parameters of yield structure were defined: the number of seedlings and ears, the number and weight of grains per ear, 1000 grains weight and grain yield. It was proved, that 5-7 year monoculture considerably decreased the number of ears, the number and weight of grains per ear and 1000 grain weight. As a result, monoculture caused 18.5 percent drop in grain yield compared with crop rotation
