Restructuring and development prospects of dairy co-ops in Lower Silesia region compared to French solutions

The aim of the present work was to evaluate dairy co-operative situation in the organization and legal aspects and to determine the co-operatives economic effectiveness on the market. Based on this data a modernization of the dairy branch was suggested, fundamental rules of a co-operative enterprises being respected. Lower Silesia region was chosen for the investigation because of a large market of Wroclaw conurbation. Mountain and highland regions are naturally suitable for cattle breeding. The results of the presents study indicate that here is a need of concentration and consolidation of economic entities in the investigated region. For this purpose possible integration processes and their economic effects were presented. The current co-ops in Lower Silesia will not be albe to operate on a highly competitive market
