The studies analysed the relationship between body condition of Black-and-White cows and their productivity and somatic cell count in milk. The studies were carried out in 1998-01 in 5 public sector farms. On the 5-point scale by Wildman et al. 3631 condition scores were made. Daily milk yield and somatic cell count were determined from breeding record-books. Important (and highly significant in 1 and 3 months of lactation) differences between milk yield of cows at different condition scores were found. The relations between body condition and fat and protein content were positive at all lactation periods, but in the case of protein percentage only these relations were highly significant.
